My boss, Jonni Bailey, that I worked with at Ruff Haus Design turned me on to the book Color Index by Jim Krause
. It is an invaluable index of over 1100 color combinations for print and web media and includes the CMYK and RGB formulas for each color. I thought it was the coolest resource for design professionals or for anyone looking for color inspiration. You can use it for picking out colors for logos, interior design, team colors, or website design.
Since starting Red Line Studio this year I have been on the look out for a used copy but haven’t had any success. It is such a great book I can’t imagine anyone giving it up. So I ended up at Amazon.com, as I always seem to do when looking for used books, and discovered that the author was coming out with a new box set Complete Color Index
of both Color Index
and Color Index 2
, so I pre-ordered the set. Plus they have it on sale for $29.70, regular price is $45.00. The set was released early so I received it this week instead of next month and has made me very happy! Yes, I am a big dork for being happy about a color book but you artists out there will understand. I checked today and Amazon still has them in-stock so buy a copy today!
